Blogger's Pick: Top 3 Cafés

Cafés are on trend right now, don't you think so? All of a sudden, café shops are all around here in Cebu. And people seem to like such places to hangout. The nice thing about cafés is, it's for all ages. They click to the youth, adults, and even to oldies. As a lover of coffee, I am more than glad to have lots of choices as to where to have the perfect drink. So now, I am listing down my top 3 coffee shops.

We actually discovered this café accidentally. Not too long ago, together with my friends, I went to Ramos to have lunch and study afterwards. Originally, we decided to study in Jellycitea but unfortunately, it was so crowded when we went there. We wander around the Raintree Mall, hoping to find a quiet place to study and thanks heavens, there really was. We went inside this café and ordered some drinks to finally begin our study. Though the place was quite small, it was still very comfortable. I was most amazed with their wall design of books. It was quite a view. The café, doesn't only offer coffees, it has breakfast and lunch meals as well and very much affordable. I've tasted their Choco Java Chip Frapp which cost Php100 and it was worth it. The tables and chairs were comfy enough and the service was good. Me and my friends agreed to consider that place as our hangout during long hours of break time. We've been there twice already.

Now you may think it's a weird name but actually 'Luwak' refers to the beans of coffee berries once they have been eaten and excreted by an Asian Palm Civet (also known as toddy cat). These beans excreted by the civet can be brewed into a coffee and from what I heard, tastes really good. De Caffé Luwak offers that rare coffee and well, it just costs Php800 a cup. So of course I didn't ordered that, HA! The café can be found in J-Centre Mall, A.S. Fortuna, Mandaue City. It was spacious and the drinks were affordable but I can't really remember what I ordered there. The wall was simple with whites and browns plus some nice paintings. I went there with my bestfriends to have a study-out and we chose that place because it was quite there with no lots of people. However, instead of studying, we ended up chatting and having fun. We were there the whole afternoon, just talking to each other.

It is located at the 2nd floor of The Acacia Place, just across Elizabeth Hotel. Me and my friends were actually going home when we passed by the café. One of my friends wanted to try it, but it was past 10 in the evening already so I was hesitant at first. He said he would  make libre and so we agreed, ha. Honestly, even before, I wanted to go there since I passed by it everytime I go to school and it seems like it's a good place to chill in, especially at night. We went inside and there were still many customers even at that late hour. The setting of the place was so cute, with lots of sticky notes posted every where. The café has a unique concept with not just tables and chairs. The whole place was like divided into smaller rooms, and each room has tables, foams, pillows. It's really comfortable because you can sit or lie down, whatever you want. You can also have your own sticky notes posted anywhere. It's also a wifi zone area so very much convenient. We started ordering drinks and I realized the prices were quite more expensive compared to other cafés. I ordered a cold coffee, which cost Php150. We chose a place just near the door, because it was the only room that was available at that time. We were asked to take off our shoes before stepping inside. We had our pillows and a small table at the center. We were playing spin the bottle while having our drinks, it was indeed a good place to chill.
