Before I watched the film, I didn't really know what to expect. But based on what I've heard, the movie solely focuses on magic. So as I was trying to visualize, I thought it's gonna be some kind of a movie documentary. My friends kept telling me that the movie's amazing and it would certainly left me in awe. I guess they were right. It took me days to finally watched the movie, even though I already have a copy of it. I am not a believer of magic but I can enjoy it.
The movie begins with different magic tricks, performed by our four horsemen. Then they were recruited or something by an unknown man with the gray hoodie, ha. Years later, they became famous performers-slash-criminals on the stage. They were actually like Robinhood x4, and with the magic.
So, I like the movie. I think it was awesome and mind-blowing, the magic I mean. I learned also from some shared secret techniques on how to perform the tricks. However, some tricks were not really magic anymore but obviously CG-ed. It would be more awesome if they, you know, stick to pure magic alone. I also didn't really get the resolution. Why in the first place would he be that obsessed to plot the revenge? Or did I miss something? He lost his father, took revenge, plotted everything perfectly and abracadabra! If I was the girl, I would never fall in love with the guy, he was seriously creeeepy.
That's it. I think logic kinda vanished towards the end. But if you don't take that into account and just embrace the trickiness of the film, then you've got a good show right here.
